As part of our project to attract eyes with entertainment value, I was looking for an Orphan Dynasty team to take over as a challenge to document how I go about rebuilding an abandoned team. My friend Bryce posted about an opportunity in Sleeper chat, an absolute atrocity of a team so bad that the buy-in was cut in half & it came with a comp ‘27-1.13 selection. Perfect.
I started with these ‘assets’:
At QB – Lawrence, Love, Cousins, Willis, Young, Rodgers, Watson… Love’s handcuff in Taylor… & SIX other backups.
RB – literally here’s everyone… Hunt, JARET PATTERSON, Tracy, Mixon, & Najee. That’s it.
WR – Nabers, McLaurin, Doubs, & six guys not worth mentioning.
TE – Brock Bowers, Travis Kelce, Theo Johnson.
And 2026 Rookie Draft slots 2.12 & 4.08.
The Draft hasn’t been set yet because we’re waiting on half the league to pay up, & they’re in no hurry because literally no one likes any rookie beyond 1.05. I recognized this in the Sleeper chat for this league almost immediately after joining & my plan came to life. I moved my top assets, yes all of them, but now I have Bo Nix, Jordan Love, Aaron Rodgers, & Tyrod Taylor at QB, Cam Skattebo, Quinshon Judkins, & Tyrone Tracy at RB, Jaylen Waddle, Matthew Golden, Alex Pierce, & Dontayvion Wicks (no one would give me a pick for him) at WR, Hunter Henry at TE… & SEVENTEEN Rookie Draft selections for 2026.
Although Mock Drafts mean little, especially in a league where I’ve only played with one other Baller previously, one Mocks when they get bored. This Mock would fit perfectly with my plan: 1.08 – Sadiq; 1.09 – Coleman; 1.12 – Stowers; 2.01 – Singleton; 2.03 – Bernard; 2.05 – Allen; 2.06 – Washington; 2.10 – Aller; 2.11 – A Williams; 2.12 – Lane; 3.01 – Claiborne; 3.02 – Fields; 3.06 – Stribling; 3.11 – Raridon; 3.12 – Bell; 4.06 – C Douglas; 4.08 – Z Thomas
The Plan:
I chose five RBs who all might get a chance to play early in the season. I need three to come through. I chose six WRs who I believe through circumstance might earn fantasy points this season, plus two dart throws for the Taxi at the very end. I chose Aller with a nod & a prayer, & I chose three TEs with complete confidence in Sadiq & Stowers, as well as high hopes for Raridon. As the season progresses & surely enough of this ALL NEW GENERATION roster showing up to attract attention? I’m going to flip some into ‘27 picks because oh by the way a 3 & two 4’s are what I have there.
Rinse. Repeat. Compete in ‘28.
And that is the symphony that Dynasty Fantasy Football can be.
